Rarity arcade joystick by purpletinker Rarity arcade joystick by purpletinker
Look upon me, Equestria, for I...AM...RARITY!

Built out of a MadCatz Street Fighter IV TE stick, on commission. (Yes, I am willing to build more custom poni joysticks)

Rarity joystick is most elegant joystick. Oh yes.

if i paid for a commission, how badass could you make Fluttershy look on one of these? my SFIV rivals aren't very pony-friendly and it'd be a sensational feeling to shoryuken their faces off with a FiM fightstick.

I could make it as badass as you could find art for. I don't draw, I just composite artwork together. :)

my plan was and still is to wait until Mane6 releases her Fighting is Magic picture and then have that put on. How much do you think this thing could run me? didn't you say the average was like, $150?

:iconpurpletinker:

Something like that. Exact totals depend heavily on how cheaply the raw materials (stick, buttons) can be sourced.

could you give me some kind of estimate on this? i'm not looking to get the world's greatest and most expensive fight stick, but i don't want a piece of crap that'll stick in a few months.

I do commissions! They cost around $150-200 including the stick, parts, and labour.

Certainly. The companies that make these controllers make both Xbox 360 and PS3 variants.

This one was not that hard, just requires basic image editing skills, a good printer, access to a laminator, a hobby knife, a glue stick, and a bunch of time.

The Rainbow Dash one was more extensively modified (it was originally a Wii stick), and thus required a bunch of soldering and wiring on top of the above :)

Woah, just looking around more and I have to ask, which stick would you say is better? Cause I'd expect a madcatz SF4 TE stick to be near top quality without building it yourself, compared to a hori though is tough, However this has more buttons which generally means more compatibility... Cause I play just about every fighter on the planet...

ACK HELP, which would you suggest =P

(would this one be only $50 + parts compared to the $100 + parts for the other one?... Maybe you should e-mail me or msn if you have it I'd gladly discuss this in more detail because this is seeming to be extremely affordable)

The labour cost is cheaper on the Madcatz sticks, as they are much MUCH easier to mod.

The Madcatz sticks themselves, however, are more expensive!

The only DISadvantage with Madcatz sticks is that bit at the upper left.. that's why I had to put the black border around it on the Rarity stick. That little control panel up there has no 'lip' around it, so any flaws-- however tiny-- in the cut you make through the artwork for it (and it's VERY hard to get a perfect cut through laminated cardstock around curves like that) will show up... thus, again, the black border.

Email me, prpltnkr @ gmail.com :) Am busy workin right now.
